ABC's youth recreational softball program is open to girls ages 4 through 18.
Individual player and team sign-ups
In-person sign-up sessions for ABC's youth recreational softball program (2024 season) have already been held, however...
ABC will continue to accept late registrations on an "as space available" basis. We do all we can to place everyone on a team, but eventually, teams fill up (even newly created ones), so we cannot guarantee placement on a team. Registrations are processed in the order received, so the sooner you send your information, the better your chances of being placed.
To submit a late registration, go to the Contact ABC page and send the following information:
-- Name of player (child)
-- Full date of birth (month/day/year)
-- Gender (male/female)
-- Name of parent/guardian
-- Best contact telephone number
-- Indicate if you are willing to assist with coaching or managing a team
So that you know, you will be contacted if there is available space on a team in your child's age group.
NOTE: If you were on an ABC team last year and will play on the same team again this year, you do not need to re-register or sign up. Please contact your team manager or coach to ensure they know you are returning.
-- IMPORTANT NOTE --
The formation of teams depends on having parents or other adults help to coach and operate the team. Youth sports league teams can exist only with responsible parental/adult involvement. If you want to know what is involved in coaching or running a team, ASK! Contact ABC (See more on parental involvement below...)
Who can play?
Age levels for Youth League softball teams are 9 through 18. Younger players (4 to 8 year olds -- with birthdates from January 2015 through April 2020) are eligible to participate in ABC's Training League program. Read more about the Baseball / Softball Training League …
See the softball age chart for the specific age division assignment based on date of birth. Players MUST be at least four (4) years old BY April 30, 2024, and cannot be over 18 years old on January 1, 2024.
There are no residency requirements to play in our sports programs. ABC Ball Park is a not-for-profit youth sports organization and is collectively owned by families whose children participate in its sports programs. If you can get here, you can play here!
Where is ABC Ball Park?
ABC Ball Park is located at 10050 Livingston Avenue, St. Ann, MO -- just north of St. Charles Rock Road and St. Gregory Lane - about 1 mile east of Lindbergh Blvd. Get map…
What is the cost?
There is no initial upfront cost to register as an individual player at ABC. Players pay their share of the team fee when placed on a team. The fee shown below is for an ENTIRE TEAM, divided equally among all team players.
Team registration fees for the 2024 season are:
$900 - Training League teams (T-Ball / PAL Ball / GAL Ball) – 12-game season
$1350 - Youth League teams (pre-high school age) – 14-game season
$1375 - High School division – 14-game season
Once placed on a team, additional costs may be incurred for team expenses – such as for uniforms and/or team equipment, when needed. While teams are encouraged to keep these expenses as low as possible, players and parents should be aware that these costs depend on the team's decisions and are shared among all players.
Teams may attempt to offset these additional costs (and even the team fee) by obtaining sponsors, conducting fundraisers, etc. These activities, when conducted, are the sole responsibility of each team.
NOTE: ABC does not require teams to provide workers for the concession stand -- just come and play ball. No other duties are required!
When are the games played?
The 2024 softball season at ABC will begin on Saturday, May 4, and continue into July. High school age teams begin playing games in mid to late May.
Games are played primarily on weekdays – Monday through Friday evenings beginning at 6:00 pm, and as needed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Youth league teams play a 14-game season. Training League teams (Tee Ball, PAL Ball, and Gal Ball) play 12 games.
When (and where) are practices?
Practice schedules and locations are determined by each team.
Photo ID Card
Photo IDs are required for all baseball players. New players to ABC or those with expired IDs must attend one of the scheduled ID card sessions before the season. Read more for currently scheduled dates…
Bring the child (for a "photo” ID), proof of age (birth certificate or expired ID card), and $5.00.
ID cards are valid for three (3) years and can be used for all ABC sports programs. If you have a non-expired ID card from another sport, it can also be used for baseball.
How can parents help?
Parental volunteer involvement is crucial to the success of our youth sports programs. Each team needs volunteers to help manage, coach, make phone calls, be scorekeepers, etc. The ABC baseball commissioners can guide you on what is required to manage or coach a youth team.
ABC Ball Park requires that background checks be performed on all volunteer managers and coaches. The cost of up to three (3) background checks per team is included in the team fee. The fee for additional background checks is $10.00 each.
Don’t just sit in the stands. A group of kids needs parental volunteers to help them become a team. Without the managers and coaches, the kids don’t play. Come and help guide your child and his teammates through their baseball experience. Help teach the game. Help teach sportsmanship!
