2016 Pitch Hit & Run Competition
ABC Ball Park will host a free local first round event for area youth in Major League Baseball's Pitch Hit & Run
competition, sponsored by Scott's
The event will be held on Sunday, May 1. Boys and girls ages 7 through 14 may register beginning at 10:30 am through 12:30 pm at the Concession Pavilion with participation in the skill events taking place right after registration.
ABC hosted a local competition for the first time last year and two of our participants, Tyler Frost (7/8 Girls) and Justin Lopez (13/14 Boys), advanced to and placed first in the Team Championships held at Busch Stadium.
Pitch Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition. the recognizes individual excellent in core baseball / softball skills.
Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2016 MLB All-Star Game in San Diego.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each division age group at the Local competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional level of competition.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate or ID card and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration / waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
